Suzanne Ware – Director Suzanne is Director, Media – Kraft Canada.

Suzanne started her media career over 16 years ago back in 1995 after graduating from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a few years in the food service industry.  Suzanne is currently the Director of Media for Kraft Canada and previously spent many years at various media agencies in Toronto.  Not being afraid of hard work and proving herself she worked her way to her current position from the ground up, having started as an inputter/discrepancy solver.  She credits this bottom up approach for grounding her in all aspects of the business.  She believes that a great strategic idea needs to be backed up with executional and administrative foundations to truly make it come to life.  Suzanne has worked on many pieces of businesses, big and small, across many categories giving her a wealth of knowledge from which to draw from.  Businesses have included Goodyear, CTV, Corby’s Distilleries, YTV, Woodbine Entertainment, Lexus, Ontario Tourism,, Wrigley, Coca-Cola, Cadbury, Niagara Fallsview Casino and McDonalds.  With this type of account responsibility it is no surprise she has experience in all media, both traditional and non-traditional.  She also has planned not only Canada but US markets and has a solid understanding of the similarities/differences in these two media worlds.  She has been recognized for her work on many fronts including internal agency awards, world wide client awards and here in Canada with MIAs.  She will tell you none of these were her wins but rather the collective teams.  She believes strongly in a team environment that includes agency staff, the client and suppliers.

Suzanne has been married for almost 13 years to her husband John and outside of work keeps extremely busy with their two young children (Mason and Madeline).  Although her life does not leave much time for hobbies she enjoys cooking/baking, travelling (when time permits), playing with her kids and the family dog and weekends at the family cottage on Balsam Lake in the Kawarthas.  Her other passion that does not fall from her work life is her love for TV.  She some how fits her favourite shows (Glee, House, Fringe, Hell’s Kitchen, Master Chef, Big Bang Theory, Criminal Minds and Big Brother) into her weekly schedule.



Alan Dark ALAN DARK – Director Alan joined CBC Media Sales & Marketing as Executive Director in January 2010 and has been one of Canada’s leading sales & marketing executives for more than 10 years.
In his role at CBC, Alan is responsible for leading CBC’s national and regional digital, specialty and conventional television sales teams and a cross-functional marketing team specializing in partnerships and branded entertainment.  Focused on providing clients with best-in-class service and cutting-edge solutions, these teams provide unique and innovative integrated sponsorship opportunities across all media platforms.Prior to joining CBC, Alan was Director of Sales for the CTV Digital Media Group and Director of Broadcast Sales at CanWest Media Group.  He lives with his family in Toronto.TOP

Rita Fabian Rita Fabian – Director Rita is Executive Vice-President, Advertising Sales, Bell Media, and is responsible for Bell Media’s advertising sales and marketing initiatives, including national, retail and specialty.
Previously, Fabian was Executive Vice-President, Sales and Marketing for CTV Inc. Appointed to this role in 2007, Fabian implemented a strategic and industry-leading plan that focused on multiplatform marketing solutions for advertisers. Prior to this role, Fabian was Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing for CTV Inc. She joined the company in 1986, holding various management positions in advertising and marketing.Fabian began her career as a Media Buyer with Ogilvy & Mather. She later moved to SSC&B Lintas, followed by a role with CBC as Network Television Sales Account Supervisor.Fabian is currently Chair of the Television Bureau of Canada, and also serves on the board of directors for the Broadcast Executives Society and Television Automated Supply Chain Initiative (TASCI).Fabian holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto. She also studied Finance at Ryerson University and at the MBA program at York University.TOP


Byron Garby

Byron J. Garby – Director/Past President. Byron is General Manager Bell Media Radio National Sales. He was Vice President of Sales for Milestone Radio’s New Flow 93.5 in Toronto for over 6 years.
Byron has a 20 plus year background in senior radio sales management, having also worked for Standard Radio and Telemedia Broadcasting in various capacities, including VP Sales Ontario. Byron has been a large supporter of the broadcast industry associations. In addition to his role with the BES, he has been extensively involved with the Canadian Association of Broadcast Representatives having held various board positions including President; he has done charitable work for NABS. Byron has been a BES board member since 2000 and was president of the board from 2004 to 2007. TOP
